The numbers changed the plan: Copilot cited explainers, not data posts, so the next posts were explainers.
What AI systems quote.
On 30 September 2026 we put 12 buyer questions about web studios to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude, in English and in Hebrew. Two patterns held in both languages.
- Price questions are answered from price pages. Every studio named in answers about fixed prices was cited from its own pricing page.
- Category questions are answered from directories. Lists of studios came from Clutch, Sortlist and similar listings, and in Hebrew from local directories.
Google's AI Overviews appeared on 13 of 16 English queries we checked and 14 of 16 Hebrew ones. On the English ones, YouTube was cited on 8 and Reddit on 6.
What that looks like on a site.
This site is built that way, and each piece can be opened:
- One page per question, with the answer in the first paragraph.
- Prices in plain text: pricing, and the same list as Markdown at /pricing.md.
- A summary for AI agents at /llms.txt.
- Structured data generated from the page's own copy, so a price changed on the page changes there too.
- Figures with their source and date beside them.
What nobody can promise.
A citation cannot be guaranteed. Ahrefs compared 75,000 brands and found that branded web mentions correlate 0.664 with visibility in AI Overviews. That is a correlation, and most of those mentions happen away from your own site: in reviews, directories, videos and forums. The monthly numbers show whether the work is paying, and what to do next.
