Velocity marquee
A services band that drifts on its own, speeds up with how fast you scroll and turns round when you scroll the other way.
Where it earns its place
A services or capabilities strip between two sections, where a plain ticker would be wallpaper and one that answers the reader feels alive.
What we changed
- Kept the physics: scroll speed becomes a capped multiplier on a base drift, eased so the band has inertia, and the row keeps the last direction you scrolled in.
- Reads speed from the panel's own endless scroller (it recentres itself and discounts the jump) instead of the page, so it can sit in a grid of other demos.
- Replaced the spring on raw velocity with an exponential ease of 0.18s, which is frame-rate independent and cannot overshoot into a reversed direction.
- Two rows with different jobs: the services in Syncopate, the studio's stack underneath in mono running the other way, with a live multiplier readout.
- Reduced motion renders both rows still; the grid card plays an alternating gust so the reaction is visible without a reader.
